Averett University and Danville Community College Forge Partnership to Empower Instructional Paraprofessionals in Early Childhood Education
Danville Community College (DCC) and Averett University (AU) are collaborating to provide an inspiring path for instructional paraprofessionals to fulfill their aspirations in the field of Education. This collaborative endeavor allows students to complete the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Early Childhood Education at DCC and then seamlessly transition to Averett University to earn their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree and teaching license. The program is designed to prepare educators for the diverse needs of children in Virginia's public school system and is open to paraprofessionals employed in any Virginia public school.
DCC Hosts 2nd Annual CyberKnight Showdown Cybersecurity Competition
Danville Community College (DCC) hosted its 2nd Annual ‘CyberKnight Showdown’, a regional cybersecurity competition, on October 6, 2023 on the DCC Campus for local high school students who are pursuing an education in cybersecurity and information technology.

DCC to Host 2nd Annual ‘All Citizens Job & Resource Fair’ with Area Partners
Danville Community College, in collaboration with Pittsylvania County Community Action, Virginia Career Works, Danville/Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, BrightView, PATHS, Hire Dynamics, and the City of Danville, is set to host a community-wide 'All Citizens Job & Resource Fair' at the Danville Community Market on November 1, 2023, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is open to everyone and all community members who are in need of employment opportunities or resources are encouraged to attend.
Danville Community College Educational Foundation Receives Largest Bequest To-Date to Benefit Students
The Danville Community College Educational Foundation (DCCEF) is pleased to announce the receipt of an approximate $3 million bequest from the estate of John A. Bostian and Iris P. Bostian.
Enrollment Continues Upward Trend for DCC Fall Semester
Continuing the trend of enrollment growth seen in the Spring 2023 and Summer 2023 semesters, Danville Community College Fall 2023 enrollment numbers are up 8.47% over Fall 2022, as of September 18.
DCC’s Second 8-week Classes Begin October 16
On October 16, 2023, Danville Community College (DCC) will begin its second 8-week course offerings for students who wish to complete their courses more quickly, pick up an extra class, or for those who may have missed the August deadline for 16-week fall semester classes.
