G3: Get Skilled, Get a Job, Get Ahead

Do you qualify for free tuition? G3 grants cover tuition and fees!

The G3 Program is Designed to Change Lives

On July 1, 2021, Danville Community College is launching a training and education program for students with a family income of less than $100,000 to help prepare them for good careers and open jobs in Virginia.

The designated programs fall into five targeted career areas that are in high demand in Virginia:

Healthcare, Information Technology, Manufacturing and Skilled Trades, Early Childhood Education, and Public Safety.

The programs are designed to be “stackable,” meaning that each program starts with skills training that leads to a certificate with immediate value in the labor market. Because the certificate is part of an associate degree, a working student can continue to “stack” additional certificates on the pathway to an associate degree.

The financial assistance for this program is “last dollar,” which covers off any remaining tuition or fees after other grants and scholarships are spent.

How to Enroll in a G3 Program

  1. Select your career path (view program list below).
  2. Apply to Danville Community College.
  3. Fill out the FAFSA or FANTIC application.
  4. Contact an advisor to plan classes.
  5. Confirm your financial aid with the Financial Aid office.
  6. Enroll in your first classes.

Students must maintain a schedule of least six credit hours (usually two classes), hold a GPA of 2.0 or higher and show progress to earning an associate degree in three years to maintain eligibility. Requirements listed below.

While the program doesn’t start until July 1, by signing up early we can help start the process and save your spot.
