Danville Community College will be offering a second wave of 8-week fall classes for students who weren’t ready in August, but would still like to begin college this fall, beginning on October 19.

DCC welcomed its new Vice President of Workforce Services, Brian Jackson, PhD, CWDP, this week.

DCC is broadening the scope of classes offered by joining the state-wide Shared Services Distance Learning SSDL Program.

The Davenport Institute, a three-year, $1 million grant program at DCC, concluded this summer on July 31. A total of 174 students completed the program during that time, with 35 graduates coming directly from DCC.

DCC joins with the Virginia Ready Initiative in conjunction with the Virginia Community College System to provide additional support and incentive for community members who have been laid off due to COVID-19 to retrain and return to work in high-demand fields.

DCC celebrated Favorite Face Covering Day as part of the Commonwealth of Virginia's third annual OnTheSquareVA employee engagement program this year!

DCC will soon provide welding training to Morgan Olson employees. The effort to create a talent pipeline for the manufacturer will positively impact the workforce in the City of Danville and the surrounding area by creating 703 skilled jobs.

DCC is accepting students for enrollment for the fall semester.
