DCC inducts more than 50 members to honor society in 2020

Danville Community College student volunteers and faculty advisors for the Upsilon Phi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa met on Saturday, October 17, for PTK’s Street Cleanup Day, which takes place in the fall and spring every year the day after induction.

Danville Community College (DCC) recognized more than 50 inductees into its Upsilon Phi Chapter of International Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa during a virtual ceremony on Friday, October 16. The 2020 inductees are all from the City of Danville, Halifax County, and Pittsylvania County.

Student volunteers and faculty advisors for the Upsilon Phi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa met on Saturday, October 17, for PTK’s Street Cleanup Day. This event, which takes place in the fall and spring every year the day after induction, involves DCC students and personnel cleaning the areas around roadways around campus as part of the chapter’s service-learning objectives.
