(May 21, 2017) Danville, Va. — The Knights held their baseball banquet and the following awards were presented to the players who finished the season at 30-16 and NJCAA DIII Region X Runner-up.

(May 6 & 7, 2017) Danville, Va. — The Knights wrapped up its regular season with a 3 game sweep of Thomas Nelson CC in Region X conference play.

DCC now 27-14 overall and 10-5 in Region X Conference open up Region X  Conference tournament this upcoming weekend at Dan Daniel Park on Friday. 

Game 1: DCC won 11-0. Garrett Richards (9-1) winning pitcher throwing a 4 hitter with 10 K's. Noah St. Clair had double, single, 3 rbi's; Tristan Peccerelli added a double, 3 rbi's; Johnny Flynn had 2 singles, rbi; Justin Moser had double, 2 rbi's; Bray Miles added a double.

Game 2: DCC won 7-4. Tyler Christmas (4-1) winning pitcher and Chris Arnold recorded the save. Tristan Peccerelli had double, single, rbi; Noah St. Clair had triple, single, 2 rbi's; Sam Gray added a triple; Jered Tubb had double.

Game 3: DCC won 5-0. Spencer Ambrose (2-4) winning pitcher throwing a 1 hitter with 6 K's. Sam Gray had triple, single, 2 rbi's; CeJay Chaparro had triple, single; Tristan Peccerelli had 2 singles, rbi; Tyler Christmas added double, rbi.

 

(April 29 - 30, 2017) Wentworth, N.C. — The Knight's finally got back out on the field due to Mother Nature and won 2 out of 3 NJCAA DIII Region X series games against Rockingham CC.

Game 1: DCC won 11-1. Garrett Richards (8-1) winning pitcher throwing a 4 hitter with 6 K'S. Ryan Dalton and Justin Moser each had 2 singles, 2 rbi's; Bray Miles had 2 singles, rbi; Sam Gray had 2 singles; Nathan Butler had 2 singles, rbi.

Game 2: DCC won 10-7. Jason Martinez (2-1) winning pitcher in relief and Chris Arnold recorded his 2nd save of the year. Noah St. Clair had 2 singles, rbi; Ryan Dalton and Jered Tubb each had a double, single, 2

rbi's; Bray Miles added double, 3 rbi's.

Game 3: DCC lost 13-10. Tyler Christmas (3-1) losing pitcher. Sam Gray had triple; Ryan Dalton had 3 singles; Tristan Peccerelli added 3 rbi's; Noah St. Clair had single, 3 walks, 2 rbi's.

DCC is now 24-14 overall and 7-5 conference sit firmly in 2nd place in Region X going into the last weekend against Thomas Nelson CC at home on Saturday and Sunday, followed the next weekend with the Region X Conference Tournament.

 

(April 19, 2017) Danville, Va. — The new weekly NJCAA DIVISION III stats were published today and DCC has some players listed nationally.

Garrett Richards - lead nation in K's with 79; tied for 4th in wins with 7; 43rd in ERA 2.98.

Tristian Peccerelli - 17th in nation in RBI's with 36.

Noah St. Clair - 16th in nation with 14 stolen bases.

Tyler McClanahan - tied 4th in nation with 7 wins.

DCC 9th in runs scored 276 and 35th in batting average at .315.

 

(April 18, 2017) Greensboro, N.C. — The Knights traveled to Greensboro, NC to take on the Greensboro College Pride JV and came away with a 10 inning 5-4 win on a game winning rbi single by Jered Tubb.

Tyler Christmas (3-0) winning pitcher in relief, a combination of Spencer Ambrose, Chris Arnold, Garrett Richards and Christmas only allowed 5 hits with 13 K's. Bray Miles had double, single, 3 rbi's; Nathan Butler, Matt Gauldin each had 2 singles; Ryan Dalton added double, rbi; Jered Tubb single, game winning rbi.

DCC, now 22-13, hosts Surry CC on Saturday, April 22, at 1 p.m. in an NJCAA Region X conference series DH.

 

(April 13, 2017) Danville, Va. — The Knights hosted Eastern Mennonite University JV's and walked away with a 14-4 win. Spencer Ambrose (1-4) picked up the win. A combination of Ambrose, Garrett Richards, Chris Arnold threw a 5 hitter with 8 K's. Tristian Peccerelli had triple, 2 singles, 4 rbi's; Nathan Butler had 2 singles, rbi; Noah St. Clair added triple, single, 2 rbi's; CeJay Chaparro had 2 singles; Ryan Dalton and Justin Moser each had a single and 2 rbi's.

DCC now 21-13 plays again on Tuesday, April 18 against Greensboro College JV's in Greensboro, N.C.

 

(April 11, 2017) Danville, Va. — The Knights picked up their 20th win of the season in a 13-3 win over College of Faith.

Tyler McClanahan (7-1) winning pitcher with 10 K's. CeJay Chaparro had double, 2 singles, 3 rbi's; Bray Miles added 2 singles; Tristian Peccerelli and Ryan Dalton each had doubles, 2 rbi's.

DCC now 20-13 play Thursday at Dan Daniel park at 3 pm against Eastern Mennonite University JV's.

 

(April 8, 9, 2017) Newport News, Va. — DCC traveled to Newport News, VA. for a 3 game NJCAA Region X conference series with Thomas Nelson CC and came away winning 2 out of 3.

Game 1: DCC won 9-8. Garrett Richards (7-1) winning pitcher with 13 K's, Ryan Dalton recorded a save. Tyler Christmas had 3 run homer, 2 singles, 3 rbi's; Tristan Peccerelli  had double, 2 singles, rbi; Nathan Butler had 2 run homer, 2 rbi's; Ryan Dalton added 2 singles.

Game 2: DCC lost 12-4. Spencer Ambrose (0-4) losing pitcher. Nathan Butler had 2 doubles, rbi; Jered Tubb had 2 singles.

Game 3: DCC won 10-8 in 10 innings on a 2 run homer by Brayden Miles. Chris Arnold (3-1) winning pitcher. The Knights banged out 18 hits. Brayden Miles had 2 run homer, 3 singles, 4 rbi's; Tristan Peccerelli had 4 singles, 2 rbi's; Noah St. Clair added 2 double's, single; Justin Moser had 2 singles, rbi; Nathan Butler had 2 singles; Ryan Dalton added a double, rbi.

DCC now 19-13 overall and 5-4 in NJCAA Region X conference next play Tuesday at 3 at Dan Daniel Park against College of Faith from Charlotte, N.C.

 

(April 5, 2017) - Ferrum, Va. — DCC traveled to Ferrum, VA to play the Ferrum College JV's. DCC won 11-7 but the win was costly in losing 2 starters due to injuries.

Tyler Christmas (2-0) picked up the win in relief, he and Ryan Dalton threw the last 5 innings of 3 hit ball and the offense took over. The Knight's trailed 6-3 going to the 6th and then put up 8 runs from the 6th to the 9th. Brayden Miles had 2 run homer, double, single, 3 rbi's; Justin Moser added 2 singles, rbi; CeJay Chaparro had 2 singles.

DCC now 17-12 travel's to Newport News, VA this weekend to take on Thomas Nelson CC in a NJCAA Region X 3 game conference series.

 

(April 1 & 2, 2017) - Danville, Va. — The Knights swept Rockingham CC in a NJCAA Region X conference 3 game series.

Game 1: DCC won 8-7 on a walk off single by Ryan Dalton in the bottom of the 9th. Tyler Christmas (1-0)picked up the win in relief. Tristian Peccerelli had double, single, 2 rbi's; Brayden Miles had 2 singles, 2 rbi's; Sam Gray added 2 singles.

Game 2: DCC won 5-0. Garrett Richards (6-1) winning pitcher throwing a complete game shutout with 8 K's. Sam Gray had 2 singles, 3 rbi's; Tristian Peccerelli had 2 singles; Nathan Butler added a double, rbi.

Game 3: DCC won 10-0. Tyler McClanahan (6-1) winning pitcher throwing a complete game shutout with 3 K's and only giving up 3 hits. Tyler Christmas had 2 singles, 3 rbi's; Josh Desper had 2 singles, 2 rbi's.

The Knights now 16-12 overall and 3-3 in Region X conference travel to play Ferrum College JV on Wednesday in a 5 p.m. single game contest.

 

(March 29, 2017) Danville, Va. — The Knights hosted Ferrum College JV for a DH and split.

Game1: DCC won 8-3. Tyler McClanahan (5-1) winning pitcher. Tristian Peccerelli had 2 triples, singles, 3 rbi's; Sam Gray, Ryan Dalton, Bray Miles each picked up a rbi.

Game 2: DCC lost 11-3. Chris Arnold (2-1) losing pitcher. Matt Gauldin and Tyler Christmas each had 2 singles; Nathan Butler added double, 2 rbi's.

DCC now 13-12 next host Rockingham CC in a NJCAA Region X Conference 3 game series at Dan Daniel Park on Saturday & Sunday. 

 

(March 25, 26, 2017) — The Knights opened its conference schedule with Surry CC and dropped all 3 games.

Game 1: DCC lost 15-7. Coy Mullins (0-1) losing pitcher in relief. Noah St. Clair had 2 doubles, single, rbi; Johnny Flynn added 2 singles, rbi.

Game 2: DCC lost 10-0. Spencer Ambrose (0-3) losing pitcher. The Knights were no hit.

Game 3: DCC lost 16-10 in a slugfest. Garrett Richard (5-1) losing pitcher. Johnny Flynn had 2 doubles, single, 2 rbi's; Nathan Butler added double, 3 rbi's; Sam Gray had double, 2 rbi's; Brayden Miles had double, 2 rbi's; Tristian Peccerelli had double.

The Knights now 12-11 overall and 0-3 in Region X conference entertain Ferrum College JV in a 4 p.m. DH on Wednesday.

 

(March 23, 2107) Danville, VA — The Knights hosted Averett University JV and lost 10-4.

DCC left 11 runners on base, walked 8, hit 2, and Averett got 12 hits that led to the loss.

Kenny Powell (0-1) losing pitcher in relief. Tyler Christmas had 2 singles, 2 rbi's; CeJay Chaparro added 2 singles.

The Knights open up NJCAA Region X conference play on Saturday when they travel to play Surry CC and return home for a game on Sunday against Surry CC.

 

(March 21, 2017) DCC hosted New River CC in a non conference game at Dan Daniel Park and won 11-7. Tyler McClanahan (4-1) winning pitcher. Tyler Christmas had 2 doubles, 2 rbi's; Sam Gray had double, single, rbi; Tristian Peccerelli added 2 singles; Nathan Butler had double, single, rbi. Justin Moser had 2 singles, rbi.

DCC, now 12-7, will host Averett University JV on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Dan Daniel Park.

 

(March 19, 2017) Harrisonburg, Va. — DCC traveled to take on Eastern Mennonite University JV team and came away with a split.

Game 1: DCC won 15-2. Chris Arnold (2-0) winning pitcher. The Knights banged out 16 hits. Johnny Flynn had 2 singles, 4 rbi's; Nathan Butler had double, single, 2 rbi's; Sam Gray added double, 2 single's, rbi; Ryan Dalton had 2 singles, 2 rbi's; Shane Hernandez had double, single. 

Game 2: DCC lost 9-8. Another 7th inning undoing giving up 5 runs after holding a 8-4 lead. Josh Desper (0-2) losing pitcher. Noah St. Clair had 2 singles, 4 stolen bases; Sam Gray had a triple, double, rbi; CeJay Chaparro had double, single.

DCC now 11-7 play tomorrow at 4 at Dan Daniel Park against New River CC.

 

(March 14-17, 2017) Myrtle Beach, S.C. — The Knights went south for Spring Break and found it very,  very cold. They came home with a 2-3 record.

Game 1: DCC vs Bergen CC (NJ). The Knights lost 7-6 on a blown call of a runner interference situation that the umpire made, which he was wrong in making. Josh Desper  (0-1) losing pitcher. Justin Moser had 3 singles, 2 rbi's; Nathan Butler had 3 singles, rbi; Bray Miles added a double.

Game 2: DCC vs SUNY Adirondack (NY). DCC won 7-2. Tyler McClanahan (3-1) winning pitcher with 11 K's and threw a 4 hitter. Sam Gray had 3 singles, rbi; Tristian Peccerelli had double, 2 singles, rbi; Nathan Butler added 2 singles, rbi.

Game 3: DCC vs Onondaga CC (NY). DCC lost 12-4. Jason Martinez (1-1) losing pitcher. Sam Gray had 2 singles; Tristian Peccerelli added double, single, rbi; Johnny Flynn had 2 singles; Corey Elmore had a home run, 2 rbi's; Shane Hernandez added a double.

Game 4: DCC vs SUNY Adirondack (NY). DCC won 15-6. Garrett Richards (5-0) winning pitcher. Sam Gray had 3 singles, 3 rbi's; Tristian Peccerelli had 2 doubles, single, 3 rbi's; Nathan Butler added 2 doubles, 2 rbi's; Shane Hernandez had double, single; Ryan Dalton had double, rbi; Tyler Christmas had double, 3 rbi's.

Game 5: DCC vs Mohawk Valley CC (NY). DCC lost 5-4. The Knights held a 4-2 lead going to the last inning but gave up 3 runs in a tough loss. Spencer Ambrose (0-2) losing pitcher with 10 K's. Nathan Butler had 2 doubles;

Bray Miles added double, single; Ryan Dalton had double, single, 2 rbi's.

DCC now 10-6 on the year head to Harrisonburg, VA on Sunday to play Eastern Mennonite University JV.

 

(March 11, 2017) — DCC hosted College of Faith College from Charlotte, NC and swept a DH 9-2 & 12-7.

Game 1:  DCC won 9-2. Garrett Richards (4-0) winning pitcher throwing a 2 hitter with 12 K's. Tristian Peccerelli had 3 singles, rbi; Bray Miles added double, single, 2 rbi's; Noah St. Clair had double, single, rbi.

Game 2: DCC won 12-7. Tyler Mc Clanahan (2-1) winning pitcher. Josh Desper had  double, single, 4 rbi's; Matt Gauldin had triple; CeJay Chaparro added 2 singles, rbi; Tristian Peccerelli had double, single; Corey Elmore had 2 singles, rbi; Johnny Flynn added 2 singles, 2 rbi's.

The Knights are now 8-3 head to Myrtle Beach, SC on spring break for 5 games in 3 days playing teams from NJ & NY.

 

(March 8, 2017) DCC traveled across town to take on the Averett University JV team and came away with a 13-1 win.

Jason Martinez (1-0) recorded the win. Bray Miles had a double, 4 rbi's; Matt Gauldin added a triple, single, rbi; Sam Gray had 2 singles, rbi; Tristian Peccerelli had 2 singles, 2 rbi's.

The Knight's now 6-3 take on the College of Faith from Charlotte, N.C. in at 1 p.m. DH on Saturday at Dan Daniel Park.

 

(March 4 & 5, 2017) Danville — The Danville Community College Knights Baseball Team hosted NJCAA DII Bryant & Stratton College in a three-game series, losing two and winning one, on Saturday, March 4, and Sunday, March 5, at Dan Daniel Memorial Park. The Knights opened the double-header this weekend with a moment of silence to recognize and honor the memory of teammate Phillip Wright, of Chatham, who died two weeks ago on Tuesday, February 21.

 

Game 1

DCC lost 8-5. CeJay Chapparo (0-1) losing pitcher in relief. DCC gave up 8 runs only 4 were earned due to 3 errors. Jacob McKinney had double, single, 2 rbi's; Noah St. Clair added 2 singles; Josh Desper had triple.

 

Game 2

DCC won 11-10. Chris Arnold (1-0) picked up the win in relief. DCC trailing 10-7 going to last inning scored 4 runs with 2 outs to steal the win. Noah St. Clair doubled to tie the game and scored the winning run on a pass ball. St. Clair had double, single, 2 rbi's; Tristian Peccerelli added triple, single, 2 rbi's; Nathan Butler had double, single, rbi.

 

Game 3

DCC lost 14-0. Spencer Ambrose (0-1) losing pitcher. The Knights committed 4 errors, and left 11 runners on base and only had 3 singles.

 

(February 17, 2017) Greensboro, N.C. — The Knights traveled to Greensboro, NC to play Guilford College JV and came away with a 10-0 win.

Garrett Richards (2-0), Tyler McClanahan, Spencer Ambrose combined to strike out 15 of the 27 outs and only allowed a total of 3 hits.

Ryan Dalton had a double, single, 3 rbi's; Johnny Flynn added triple, 2 rbi's; Nathan Butler added triple, rbi, Brayden Miles had single, 2 rbi's.

The Knights now 2-1 travel to play Greensboro College JV on Wednesday 22nd for a 5pm contest.

 

(February 12, 2017) The Knights opened up the 2017 season in Laurinburg, NC with Saint Andrews University JV coming away with a split. 

Game1: DCC won 9-7. Garrett Richards (1-0) winning pitcher, Chris Arnold picked up a save. Brayden Miles had double, single, 2 rbi's; Johnny Flynn added 2 singles and rbi; Ryan Dalton added triple; Nathan Butler had single and 2 rbi's.

Game 2: DCC lost 13-6. Tyler McClanahan (0-1) losing pitcher. The Knights committed 6 error's, 7 walks, 4 hit batter's. Jacob McKinney and Tristian Peccerelli had  double's and each a rbi; Tyler Christmas added double.

The Knights 1-1 play next at Guilford College JV on Friday 17th.

 

(November 23, 2016) — The Knights finished the Fall 2016 baseball season with a record of 4-1-1.

Patrick Henry CC cancelled us and the hurricane help cancel games at Hampden Sydney.

The final weekend was a split with Hi Toms from High Point, NC, losing 3-2 and winning 8-2.

The team now goes into it's fall conditioning program at Planet Fitness until December 12th.

Thanks to everyone who made a contribution to our Marathon Game/20-10.

The team will be selling raffle tickets for $2 each until December 16 with cash prizes of $250, $100, $50 to 3 lucky winners, winning tickets to be drawn on December 16, you do not have to be present to win, buy a ticket or two to help support these student athletics.
