Toothman Named Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services at DCC

(July 25, 2017)  – Danville Community College (DCC) welcomed its new vice president of finance and administrative services on Tuesday, July 25.

Charles A. Toothman comes to DCC from Prince William County, where he served as the county’s administrative division chief. He brings with him extensive experience in managing both corporate and nonprofit organizations.

Toothman said he is excited to return to Southern Virginia. Originally from Rivesville, W.Va., he worked in Martinsville from 1999 to 2006 as business manager at Virginia Department of Health and said he worked closely with his counterparts in Danville during that time, before joining New College Institute as fiscal and human resources administrator.

“This is a dynamic area with enormous energy and growth potential,” Toothman said. “I hope to contribute to DCC by working closely with faculty and staff to expand opportunities for students and help the college to continue to grow.”

Toothman holds a Master of Business Administration from Averett University and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Fairmont State University. He is a member of the Virginia Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators, Virginia Government Finance Officers’ Association, and Virginia Community Colleges Association.

Toothman is married to Kimberly Toothman, with whom he has two children: Sarah, a rising high school senior, and Charles Ryan, a rising fifth grader.
